As you might have guessed, our diner-style menu is all about Jonkanoo’s secret, signature Jerk recipe – a uniquely Caribbean style of BBQ that combines a 48-hour marinate rub of jerk spices (pimento! scotch bonnet peppers!) then a good smoking and flame grill! It’s delicious food, purpose-made for the dancehall.
Jonkanoo Jerk House is the canteen outpost of Surry Hills’ Jonkanoo Restaurant that’s led by world-travelling Jamaican-American chef Damion Brown. His jerk spice recipe has been developed over years from his time in his family’s West Indian restaurants in Miami and New York.
