+ Matt Corby + very SPECIAL GUEST...
Well as it goes, Orstralia voted Mumford & Sons' single Little Lion Man number 1 on Triple J's Hottest 100 yesterday! And tonight they're hosting the party at Goodgod... lookout!
"Communion is a famed folk and indy night in the UK, set up by Ben from Mumford & Sons and Kevin from Cherbourg to foster the growing new folk scene in London.
Over past years, the night has helped launch the careers of Noah and the Whale, Laura Marling and Mumford themselves.
It's also a record label supporting up and coming folk and indy-pop artists with a series of Communion CDs.
Ben from Mumford and Sons is launching Communion in Australia and has selected a line-up of Sydney bands that fit the Communion vibe for the opening night."
Fresh outta the BJB studios with Simon Berkfinger (Philadelphia Grand Jury) Deep Sea Arcade are busting out their first single live.
You know what they say:
"Sydney’s DEEP SEA ARCADE’s reverberated pop recalls
The Beatles at their psychedelic peak" and...
"Ethereal guitars and lyrical quirks will transport the listener
to a dark, watery world of mystery and enchantment."

Impressed that some clubs have a rooftop pool with palm trees?
We've got a den of a dive-bar without a pool or palm trees.
But GOODGOD is throwing an indoor pool party for all our down and dirty rock doggs anyway!
That means throbbin', fuzzed out, thrashed and trashed ROCK and F#CKEN ROLL all summer night long. No f#cken house, no f#cken reggae and maybe even no f#cken Beach Boys! And definitely no f#cken pool!
Dress requirement: Sunglasses on the dancefloor
Swimwear and inflatables encouraged.
Some badass DJs will keep ya shaking it plus Sydney's summer babes Straight Arrows will be kicking the jams poolside.
Cheap Beam and Coke all party long.

SHIT ROBOT (DFA / Germany)
SATURDAY JANUARY 23 10pm - Late / $15 presale at Resident Advisor
One of the few DFA Records originals still yet to tour Aust, Shit Robot (Marcus Lambkin) cut his teeth as a DJ in NYC through the 90s and early 2000s alongside the likes of James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem and Luke Jenner of The Rapture. After establishing Plant Records and Plant Bar in NYC, Marcus and James Murphy began the now infamous Shit Robot party, named after Murphy’s crap robot drawing.
Shit Robot has since moved to Stuttgart (and stolen the party's name!) and has been producing on the DFA label, putting out a string of acclaimed 12"s.
Last year's Simple Things (Work It Out)offering of new-school old-school house (!) featured in many discerning critics' year end best of lists.
A favourite among chinstrokers and party monsters alike, expect Shit Robot's studio album to be released in early 2010 alongside remixes for the likes of Kaos and Simian Mobile Disco.
But now we look ahead to his Sydney debut, a night of super heavy-slash-fun electronic sounds traversing disco, tech and house from one of the dance world's best, with hand-picked local support of:
Jimi Polar (Future Classic) Diatribe (Deep Impressions)
Dan Cares!

London's Sinden requested a small, exclusive club show for his January tour to throw it down exactly how he wanted to. THIS IS IT!
Jimmy Sing, Levins and Huggz are proud to present him in the intimate setting of Goodgod Small Club.
Mashing together the sounds of dubstep, grime, funky house, and other flavors of underground dance, Sinden, half of production duo The Count & Sinden, conquered dancefloors in 2008 with his infectious single Beeper.
A year later they released the more house sounding cut Everybody Rockin and in 2008 they fully embraced the sounds of grime and garage, releasing Beeper and getting signed to indie label, Domino. That same year, they collaborated with Baltimore vocalist Rye Rye for their Hardcore Girls single and have been working on an album for release in 2010.
Without The Count, Sinden hosts a famed radio show on London based station Kiss FM, runs the Counterfeet label with Switch and has gained continuous support in nightclubs across the globe with his remixes of a huge range of artists, including Lady Sovereign, DJ Mujava, Bjork and Crystal Castles.
"Mr Freer is back for his third visit to Australia, packing some serious Deutsche Wiggle and better equipped than ever to twist some melons.
He's been hard at it since last year's visit, setting up a vinyl only label, Retreat, out of Berlin and mashing synths with his musical partner, Matthias Reiling working on their SESSION VICTIM project.
With releases on Real Soon, Morris Audio and more in the pipeline on Hairy Claw, Retreat, and again on Real Soon, he's a man about town. He lives in Kreuzberg and he loves to eat breakfast."
